Two Material Options: PP or HDPE
The basket can be moulded in PP for higher stiffness at the same wall thickness, or in HDPE where the basket will be handled and stored below freezing. The choice is made at order rather than by changing the mould, so dimensions and stacking are unaffected.
Wavy Rim with a Lowered Front
The rim dips at the front and rises at the back instead of running level. A picker reaches in over the low side and lifts a bunch from underneath without pressing on the fruit, and the raised back edge stops the load sliding out when the basket is carried against the hip.
Slotted Walls on All Four Sides
Oval slots run in rows on all four walls, so air passes through the load from any direction and the field heat of freshly picked fruit leaves the basket before it reaches the cold store.
Vented Floor with Radial Ribs
The floor is slotted for drainage and ribbed in a radial pattern from the centre, which stiffens the panel in every direction rather than along one axis. A basket carried at one hand therefore keeps its floor flat under a 12 kg load instead of sagging towards the middle.
Rounded Rim and a Smooth InterioThe rim is rounded rather than squared off, and the interior has no joins, ribs or fasteners standing proud of the surface. Grapes are bruised by edges more often than by handling, and a smooth interior removes that source of damage.
Corner Posts That Locate the Stack
The four corners are formed as posts standing above the rim, so a basket placed on another seats onto those posts rather than resting on the fruit below. The stack therefore stays aligned while it is built, which is what keeps a field stack stable on uneven ground.
